Little Bunnies

October 2021

Hi Bunnies Families!

Our Little Bunnies are officially preschoolers! We are happy to say they have all settled in nicely and there are a lot less tears and separation anxiety. They have been having fun learning through songs, arts and crafts, stories and especially PLAY! It was great meeting some of you for the first time at Back to School night and getting to know you all a little more.

In October we had great fun with our Fall, Farm and Halloween themes. We learned about leaves changing color and falling on the ground. We also learned about animals on the farm and that pumpkins sometimes get turned into Jack o Lanterns or Pumpkin Pies.

 Our nursery rhyme for the month is:

Little Miss Muffet

Little Miss Muffet
Sat on her tuffet,
Eating her curds and whey;
Along came a spider,
Who sat down beside her
And frightened Miss Muffet away.

 We learned that spiders help our gardens grow, so there is no need to be afraid of them. Fun fact: we learned that we get our milk, yogurt, and cheese from cows. Our virtue was being a good listener, we talked about how we listen to our grownups and our friends. Especially when they are asking for a turn or would like to let us know they are still using something. We also had fun learning about the number two, squares and the colors orange like a pumpkin and black like a bat. We have been continuing singing our A,B,C’s to learn our letters.

This month we read many books including Pete the Cat Old MacDonald had a Farm by James Dean and learned about the sounds different animals make. We also read We’re Going on a Pumpkin Hunt By Mary Wilcox, a story of some animals climbing mountains, walking through grass, and paddling a boat across a river to find the biggest pumpkin.

 Please remember to sign your child’s first and last names on the sign in sheets.

 Next month our themes will be Forest and Thanksgiving.

Hope your autumn days are full of blessings!
Teacher Teresita, Teacher Bettina, and Teacher Ruth
