Women's Ministries

The Women’s Ministries began in 1955 as the “Mary-Martha Guild” and has evolved over the years.   We continue to be mission focused and sponsor events that encourage women to grow in their spiritual relationship with the Lord and one another and to help meet the needs of those in the local community and beyond.

We invite all women to share their ministry passions, spiritual gifts and talents to further develop inspirational opportunities and events that will engage women in their walk with the Lord.

Annual Bake Sale in December – The proceeds fund 12 monthly missions, each receiving an annual donation of $150.  Check out the monthly issue of Heart Matters to learn more about the missions as they are funded.

Infant Diapers – In partnership with New Creation Home Ministries (NCHM), East Palo Alto, we have an on-going collection of disposable infant diapers. All diaper sizes are needed – from newborn to toddler pull-ups.  The Infant Diaper Donation Box is in the Family Center.  Go to www.newcreationhome.org to learn more about this local Christian ministry.

The Lutheran Women’s Missionary League (LWML) is the official women’s auxiliary of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod.  For 75 years, the LWML has focused on affirming each woman’s relationship with Christ, encouraging and equipping women to live out their Christian lives in active mission ministries and to support global missions.  All women are invited to join us for spring and fall gatherings, prayer services, retreats, and conventions.  Contact Linda Bradley in the Church Office for coming events.

Recycling for Missions – Bring your aluminum cans and bottles, with a CA redemption value, to church on Sundays and put them in the blue bin marked “LWML” by the shed in the parking lot.  The proceeds from recycling are sent to the LWML California-Nevada-Hawaii (CNH) district to help fund mission grants.  Go to www.lwmlcnh.org to find out more about the LWML CNH district mission grants and events.

LWML Mite Boxes – Based on the Biblical account of the widow's mite (Luke 21:1–4), the Mite Box is intended for regular contributions of "mites" — offerings above and beyond the support given to congregations and the LCMS.  Mite Box contributions amount to millions of dollars that fund district and national mission grants and implement the LWML program.  All members of the congregation are encouraged to pick up a Mite Box from the cabinet in the Narthex, fill it with your change or dollar bills, and put it in the offering plate or in the large wooden Mite Box at the back of the church.  Your donations will be sent to the LWML CNH district and will help spread the Good News to many.
