Growing Tigers

December 2021

Posted on

Candy Canes, Angles, Reindeer, and Twinkling Stars are some of the things the Little Tigers talked about this month. The children have been working very hard this month on our songs for the Christmas service. We have also been learning about the story of Jesus’ birth.

Our theme for the month is Christmas and Jesus; our color was red; our shape was star; our letters were Q, G, S; our number was 4 and our virtue was Giving.

Our Poem was titled:

“Peppermint Stick"

Oh, I took a lick
Of a peppermint stick, And I thought it tasted
YUMMY!
Oh, it used to hang on my Christmas tree,
But I like it better in my
TUMMY!

A fun fact for the month was about pinecones. We learned that when the weather is dry a pinecone will open up and the wind will disperse the tiny seeds. When the weather is wet, a pinecone will close up to protect their seeds.  Two of our favorite books this month have been 5 Little Monkeys Looking for Santa by Eileen Christelow and Pete the Cat Saves Christmas by Eric Litwin.

Please remember to bring in Santa Books to us by Monday Dec. 13th. Our Christmas Parties and Santa Books Scavenger Hunts will be Dec. 15th and 16th.

Happy Holidays,
Teacher Robin and Teacher Katie C.
