The Christmas Cookie

First we mix it, and stir it all around.
Then we roll and roll it, and cut it to shape.
Bake it and bake it, that’s how we make it.
Looky looky it’s a Christmas cookie!

The wonder of Christmas has arrived in the Little Bears room. We are sure enjoying all the joy and magic of the season by decorating our classroom and reading Christmas stories. The children are busy little elves this month making special gifts for their families. We are learning all about the real meaning of Christmas…..it’s Jesus’ birthday!! In chapel we learned that the wreath symbolizes God’s love that goes on forever, it never ends. We are also practicing our songs for the “Young Child’s Christmas Service”.

Some of the books we are enjoying are, “Bear Stays up for Christmas”, “Hurry Santa”, “The Christmas Story”, “What Santa Can’t Do”, “If you take a Mouse to the Movies”, “Bear’s First Christmas” and “The Dog Who Found Christmas”.

In the month of December we are working on:

Letter: K and L
Color: Purple
Shape: Star
Virtue: Giving

Reminder: Now that the days are getting colder, please be sure to send your child to school each day with a jacket. We are the first class to go out on the playground and it is chilly.

In January we will be learning about Winter and snow animals!

Have a wonderful and blessed Christmas!!
Teacher Ana and Teacher Elizabeth
