Posted on

Hearts, Groundhogs, Cows, Pigs and Tractors are some of the things we made this month. During the month of February we have been learning about Farm Animals and having Valentine fun. A few fun facts we learned this month are pigs are the fastest farm animals, they can run 11 miles per hour, cows are one of the most useful farm animals along with chickens, goats, bees, and rabbits. Sheep have two toes on each foot, and some chickens can lay colorful eggs.

Some of the books we have enjoyed reading this month are:  Moo Moo I Love You by Amy Krause and Tom Lichtenheld, Grumpy Groundhog  by Maureen Wright, Froggy’s First Kiss by Jonathan London,  If You Give A Pig A Party by Laura Numeroff, Duck on a Tractor and Duck on a bike by David Shannon.

In the month of February we worked on:

Letters: Q,R,S,T
Number:  6
Color: Purple
Virtue:  Patient
Shape: Heart

We having been learning the heart poem and the writing number 6 poem:

Harry Heart is my name
They shape I make is my fame
With a point on the bottom
And two curves on the top.
When it comes to love,
I just can’t stop!

Make a curve
Then a loop
There are no tricks
To make a six!
