Little Bears

November 2022

Posted on

Leaves falling on the ground, leaves changing colors, pumpkins, scarecrows and turkeys are just some of things we made and talked about in the month of November. During the month of November we have been learning about Fall Harvest and Thanksgiving. A couple of fun facts we have learned this month are pumpkins are a type of squash and they come in colors of green, red, tan, yellow, white or even blue.  We also learned that we need bees to spread the pollen to flower to flower to make pumpkins and apples grow.

Some of the books we have enjoyed reading this onto are:  Apples are for Everyone and Pumpkin Pie by Jill Esbaum,  Peppa’s Windy Fall Day by Barbara Winthrop, Pete the Cat Falling For Autumn by James & Kimberly Dean, There was an Old Lady Who Swallowed some Leaves by Lucille Colandro, and Olaf Gives Thanks by Colin Hosten.

In the month of November we worked on:

Letters: G, H and I
Color: Yellow
Shape: Square
Virtue: Thankful
Number: 3

We have been learning the Square poem and the writing to the Number 3 poem:

Sandy Square
Is my name.
My four sides.
Are all the same!

Around a Tree,
Around a Tree,
That’s way to make
A three!

Please remember you are welcome to email me at if you have any questions or concerns about your child or anything going on in class.

Happy Thanksgiving,
Teacher Katie C. And Teacher Johanna
