Busy Bees

October 2021

Hurray for October!!! Our themes for October are the season of fall and Halloween. Our shape is a Square and our color is orange. We have started the letter of week with the Busy Bees. They love seeing what will be in our alphabet soup can. The letters for this month our A, B, C and D. Our virtue is being a Helper. Can you think of ways for your child to help around the house? Maybe they could help pick up their toys.

Some of our favorite stories this month are, “The Spooky Wheels on the Bus”, “Pete the Cat: Five Little Pumpkins”, “The Chocolate Chip Ghost”, “Duck and Goose Find a Pumpkin” and “Room on the Broom”.

Here is a fun Halloween song the children have enjoyed:

The Halloween Itsy Bitsy Spider

“The itsy bitsy spider was walking down the street….
Along came a goblin and scared him off his feet, BOO! ….
I’m sorry Mr. Spider, won’t you be my friend….
And the itsy bitsy spider was never scared again!!!
KISS!!!”

Please welcome Teacher Lisa to the Busy Bees classroom. The children have already taken to her. We are so glad she is a part of our team.

We have settled into our daily routine now with music and chapel time. It’s fun hearing the children during play time singing the songs. The children are also enjoying putting puff balls into our “Caught you being good” jar. They get to put a puff ball into the jar when we see them being kind to a friend, cleaning up and being good listeners. Their reward is a Popsicle party. We have had our first one and I’m sure many more to come.

Fall Blessings,
Teacher Lori, Teacher Yash & Teacher Lisa
